Orlando 2007

Monday, March 26, 2012 by RCI Member Vacation Stories

A family vacation to the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando was the highlight of our year. With our 4 daughters all under the age of 7 the accommodations and location were ideal. We could have done without the Disney passes and spent time just hanging around the resort and taking advantage of all of the amenities which it had to offer. We were glad that we had banked our week from a year or two earlier when we were not able to take a vacation and then use it when it was a convenient time for us.

Orlando, Florida – The right mix of sun, water and breeze

Manju S. - Vacation Stories from an RCI Associate

Warm breezes welcome guests as they arrive, taking away the winter blues from those of us traveling from up North. Lighter clothes, a slower pace of life and plenty of fun activities – a great escape from the office chatter.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort in nearby Kissimmee, which was one of the many beautiful resorts in the area. We started to unwind by playing golf and lounging around the pool. The pools are kid-friendly and there are many surrounding play areas to keep them busy.

Our resort was close to Walt Disney World – a great benefit when traveling with kids. One day, we traveled to one of the theme parks and the fun rides kept all of us entertained. The next day, we went to SeaWorld Orlando…it is amazing to see the sophisticated interaction between humans and animals! SeaWorld had a lot of space to sit, eat and walk around. We enjoyed the evening show "A Sesame Street Christmas". The script was good and the actors really brought life to the characters!

I enjoyed every moment in Orlando. The sun warmed the heart, the water got the body moving and the breeze soothed the soul. Orlando really gives a great opportunity to go back in time, to being a kid again!

Disney World Trip 2008

Thursday, March 22, 2012 by RCI Member Vacation Stories

It was our son's 10th birthday and we promised him that we would go to Walt Disney World. We stayed at one of the wonderful affiliated resorts there in Kissimmee, Florida and ended up buying a timeshare. It was so great to be able to fix our own meals and the kids could go swimming everyday! We had so much fun and it was so relaxing. We were only 10 minutes away from the theme parks...some nights we could see the fireworks from our place too! It made our son's birthday even better when they gave him a button that said that it was his birthday and everyone at the theme parks all told him "Happy Birthday!" If I had my way we would always stay at a resort for vacation because we can cook our own food, relax, and do laundry so I don't have a whole bunch to do when we get home. It is just like being home, but near a fun place to play too!

Walt Disney World

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 by RCI Member Vacation Stories

I had never really gotten into the whole "Walt Disney World experience" until, while staying at an RCI affiliated resort for a week, my wife and I bought tickets with the Park Hopper option. It was at this time that I went to Disney's Animal Kingdom...we had a blast! By enabling us to spend a week, RCI opened the door for us and gave us the luxury of being able to come and go at our leisure, day or night, and return to the comfort of our accommodations. Additionally, because of its location, we were able to play in the Orlando area and digest much more of what the area had to offer. Would we take this opportunity again? No question about it!!

We went to Walt Disney World and stayed at a very nice RCI affiliated resort. It was an amazing time with friends. It made going to Walt Disney World affordable!

Disney World

Thursday, September 1, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
My family lives close to Disneyland in California, so we never were very interested in visiting Walt Disney World in Florida. But the kids suggested it as a family vacation idea, and we started to look into lodging options. We exchanged our week and stayed at the Orange Lake West Village in Kissimmee. It was beautiful. The condo was fully equipped with two bedrooms, two baths and a full kitchen. They had a gorgeous pool area with several swimming pools, slides and a lazy river to float around. It was super-close to all the attractions of Orlando: Disney's Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and Sea World, to name a few. We concentrated on the theme parks that we don't have here in Southern California, like Epcot, Sea World's Aquatica and Universal's Islands of Adventure. We had a great time and would definitely go back-- but only if we stay at a luxurious RCI affiliated resort.

Walt Disney World Trip 2007

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
My wife, seven year old son, and I went to Walt Disney World and Sea World during our son's school spring break week in 2007. We stayed at the Orange Lake Resort property for the week. The trip was a fantastic success! The pre-arrangements performed by RCI led to a flawless arrival, stay, and checkout process. All we had to do was enjoy the activities of the resort, Walt Disney World, Sea World, and the area. Our son had the time of his life; one that he'll cherish and remember forever. Thank you for making the arrangements for the stay.

My Birthday 2009

Thursday, July 28, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
I had not had a real birthday party in a long time, so I decided to throw myself one! Fortunately, I found a Last Call vacation through RCI at the beautiful Kings Creek Plantation resort in Williamsburg, VA. It was very reasonably priced but when I got there, I thought, "Oh my, I should have paid waaaay more for this." It was so nice to have my family come with me. We had enough room for everyone! One of my husband's gifts to me was 'Guitar Hero' and my family and I had a blast taking turns playing it on the big screen television! I was skeptical at first because we are fairly new to the whole timeshare thing, but now that we're confident that RCI will do their best to accommodate our needs, we won't travel any other way! As a matter of fact, we're leaving Monday for a week in Walt Disney World...yippee!

Summer Bay Resort

I went with my wife, 2 daughters and my mom to Orlando. We loved staying at the Summer Bay Resort and Walt Disney World and Universal Studios were an incredible experience for all of us because we got to be together and have so much fun. It brought us closer and made us realize how important is to have fun! These parks have games for all the generations. We look forward to keep traveling to different and distant places because the memories created during vacation stay in the heart forever.

Amazing Orlando Vacation

Friday, June 24, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
WOW! That's what our entire family said when we walked into our first RCI exchange unit at Kissimmee Florida. We had seen photos of Orange Lake Country Club online, but it didn't compare to the beautiful grounds, fountains, unit, and facilities where we were granted access. We had anticipated spending all of our time at Walt Disney World, but with all of the extra ammenities and activities available, we stayed at the resort most evenings and afternoons. Our individual unit also was nicer than anything we could have imagined. It was really a home away from home.

Florida Trip 2007

Thursday, June 23, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
My sister, brother-in-law and son went on this trip to Florida. We stayed at the wonderful Summer Bay Resort which was just minutes away from Walt Disney World. From this location we were able to drive to Clearwater and visit friends for the day. We also drove to Kennedy Space Center and got a chance to see the shuttle actually on the launch pad. Another day we drove to Daytona Speedway and drove the race cars and then on up to Saint Augustine. What a beautiful city. We also found time to go to Epcot and Walt Disney World. Since this was our third trip to Orlando, Walt Disney World was not quite a priority this time around.

Florida Trip 2008

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
Went to Orlando, Florida with my family and an extra person my daughter invited. We stayed at a beautiful resort (Buena Vista) about 3-5 miles away. The place was breathtaking with beautiful furniture, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It had a patio overlooking the pool area. We visited Walt Disney World (Magic Music Days), Universal Studios (Indiana Jones), Epcot (restaurants), and Busch Gardens (fun screaming rides) in Tampa and Daytona beach (awesome). We were so exhausted by the end of the week but we didn't want to waste any time. We had a very memorable time which we will never forget and we still talk about it even today. The best part was the wonderful weather and lots of shopping to do. RCI made it happen...

Orlando Spring Break

Tuesday, June 21, 2011 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
Every year we return to Orlando for our Spring Break. We always enjoy Silver Lake Resort. It has a Caribbean ambience and is close to all the Walt Disney World parks. The units are wonderful with lots of space for families to relax in. Overall the resort is very clean, very well maintained, lots of sunny areas around the huge pool deck to sunbathe. You never feel out of place in this resort as everyone is extremely friendly. Lots of things for everyone to do if you want to enjoy a resort day. One, two and three bedroom lockoff units. Very secure.

Disney Trip 2009

We had a wonderful summer vacation at the Disney Saratoga Springs Resort. Not only was the resort one of the best that we ever exchanged for but our two daughters age 19 and 14 realized how wonderful our RCI affiliated timeshare really is. They talked about how when they are married they want to vacation together and use our timeshare as a way to build onto their great vacation memories. It was so nice to hear that not only do they look forward to our vacations together but also that they see the worth of our timeshare and how they want the same experience for their families in the future.

Christmas in Orlando

Thursday, November 11, 2010 by RCI Member Vacation Stories
I chose to take my daughter and one of her friends to my resort in Orlando, Florida during her Christmas break. I was a little apprehensive as it was our first time being away from home during the holidays. My apprehension turned to excitement as soon as we drove in to the resort!! One of my and my daughter's favorite things about Christmas is the joy we get out of decorating for the occasion and the resort was so festive...we even had a tree in our room.

Universal Studios and Walt Disney World were so close we decided to visit both!! All of the people at the resort were so nice and accomodating.

On Christmas day we decided to go to the beach. We found a lot of really neat shells and right before we left there was a rainbow!! Thanks to RCI and life's simple pleasures we had a very memorable vacation!!
