Mexico 2008

I celebrated my birthday at the El Dorado Royale, Riviera Maya. The resort was beautiful and luxurious. There were massage beds outside on the beach and it was wonderful having a massage and listening to the waves and feeling the ocean breeze. Not only was I relaxed from the massage but also from the natural pleasures of being on the beach. This resort was the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed at. I would like to go back. The food was excellent. I enjoyed the fish dishes the most. I would highly recommend this resort to those who want to get away to a romantic getaway with someone special.

Honeymoon in Cancun 2009

In March of 2009, my husband and I took our perfect honeymoon vacation at the Sun Palace Resort in Cancun. The things we loved most were the romantic candlelight honeymoon dinner, the beautiful beach with wait staff who tended to us whenever we needed anything, our gorgeous room with unbelievable ocean view and Jacuzzi, drinks on the beach, great food, and no hassles.

Our stay at the Palace resort included the Palace Passport, which meant that we could take free excursions from our resort. We visited historic Tulum and took the Paradise snorkeling trip. We loved that we could go to any other Palace resort and use their facilities and eat & drink in their restaurants without having to pay a thing. On this trip we enjoyed the Beach Palace, Cancun Palace and Xpu Ha Palace resorts. From excellent food and drinks to making new friends and enjoying our special honeymoon time together, this was the perfect trip!

Mayan Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico

This is the second Mayan Palace property we visited and we have loved both. We had a wonderful time at the Mayan Palace, Riviera Maya, Mexico. The resort is over the top and the service in perfect. The rooms do leave a little to be desired, but completely tolerable. None of the rooms have an ocean view and most are quite a walk from the pool area as well as the beach area. However, the resort is worth going to because of the pools, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and service. I have been time sharing since 1990 and this is by far the best resort I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I would go back again and again.

The only other negative is that Riviera Maya is quite a cab ride to Cancun, however, we found that everything you need is at the resort and there is no reason to leave.

I hope you have as much fun as we did!

Cabo San Lucas trip 2008

My husband and I celebrated my 67th birthday in Cabo. The weather was great, the accommodations wonderful and there were plenty of activities. I loved seeing baby turtles being released into the ocean, right at our resort. The food was great and I really like the all-inclusive idea. There were nightly shows and we didn't have to pay any extra. I am planning on returning to Cabo again soon.

Club Velas Vallarta

Club Velas Vallarta

My husband and I went to this all-inclusive resort in Mexico and absolutely fell in love with Puerto Vallarta. Right on the Pacific Ocean, it is breathtakingly lovely, had fabulous tours, excellent cuisine, amazing rooms and service, and was just one of the best vacations we've taken with RCI. We'd love to go back!

Ocean City, Maryland 2009

I went on this trip to OC Maryland with my two kids, ages 3 and 5. They loved OC because they had so much to do for children. The resort we stayed at, Coconut Malorie, had a swimming pool that kept them busy. On a cloudy day we went to Trimpers Amusement park (both indoor and outdoor) and the kids loved it. We went miniature golfing a few times and the kids loved that. The boardwalk was also alot of fun. I would recommend this location to families traveling with small children because it is very kid friendly and lots of thing to do with the kids.

Why RCI® Subscribing Members Love the Many Possibilities of a Florida Vacation

Susie M. - RCI Subscribing Member Vacation ExperiencesWhen you hear “Florida vacation,” the three things that probably come to mind are sunshine, theme parks, and character breakfasts. But Florida is known for much more than that.

Whether you are traveling with your family, your significant other, or a group of friends, a Florida vacation has an abundance of activities that's sure to keep anyone entertained. For music fans, there are orchestras, operas, and symphonies. Animal lovers can enjoy the aquariums or the 2,000 mile Great Florida Birding Trail. Art buffs can check out the museums and strolling arts districts, while night owls may want to dance the night away in one of the many nightclubs.

As part of my job at RCI, I am lucky enough to hear from members about their Florida vacation experiences. Here’s what some RCI members had to say* about their resort vacations in the Sunshine State:

Charleen, Newfane, NY: We spent two weeks at the Dover House in Delray, Florida, in February and March of 2009. The resort was a cozy spot right on the ocean. We walked across the street and there was the beach. We could see the sunrise from our front porch or walk down to the beach and watch the beautiful day dawning. It was a five minute walk to the main shopping/tourist area and the intercoastal waterway. A cruise on the waterway was wonderful with beautiful homes and waterways. There were many wonderful restaurants including two about 500 feet from the resort itself that were quite charming with outside seating. It was a very relaxing area, but there were many things to do. The beach was great, and so was the pool — not a crowd to contend with, but friendly people to socialize with.

Jackie, Missoula, MT: We spent a week in Key West at the Galleon Resort. Pretty much in walking distance of anything and everything you want to see and do in Key West. From our unit we could watch the sun rise and sun set. We had a beautiful ocean view and couldn’t have asked for a better setting to experience the wonders of Key West.

Janet, Cincinnati, OH: We visited Plantation Beach Club at Indian River. It was the most relaxing vacation I think I had ever had. We had a wonderful screened balcony that was great. The views were fabulous. When you came up to the balcony in the morning, it was absolutely beautiful. The water looked as if it was right outside your door. When it was high tide, it was just fabulous. I will be looking forward to coming back again. My favorite memory of this resort is lying on the balcony with the ocean to my left and Indian River straight ahead. Just beautiful and what a memory to treasure. I would recommend this resort to anyone. I have been so pleased with my RCI exchanges. I loved every single resort we have visited or exchanged.

California Vacation: More than Just a Summer Timeshare Destination

Susie M. - RCI Subscribing Member Vacation ExperiencesIn my position here at RCI, I get to hear directly from subscribing members about their timeshare vacation experiences. A lot of our RCI® subscribing members choose a California vacation for one reason or another, especially in the winter. They talk about the beaches, the wineries, and the good weather — a great combination to warm up any winter. Some of them are planning a stay at a timeshare for a wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary. Some of them are just planning for some time away. Here’s what other RCI members had to say* about their California vacation:

Robert, Palmdale, CA: Our trip to Arnold, California in March was awesome. The Big Trees State Park was just down the road and the kids went snowboarding 20 minutes away. Lots of hiking and fishing. The nearest lake was gorgeous and we saw lots of wildlife. People in the town were really friendly and helpful. The resort was comfy and had a warm feel to it. We want to return there.

Joyce, Salem, NH: My husband and I were excited to plan our exchange trip to Capistrano California.  We exchanged our Cape Cod timeshare for a beautiful two bedroom, two bath timeshare in the Capistrano Surfside Inn. The timeshare was huge and immaculate and the ocean was just across the street.  Also within walking distance was Dante Point which not only had an active harbor and walking areas with fantastic restaurants and shops, but bikepaths as well for those who wanted to bike around the area.  We visited The Mission at Capistrano and walked the small streets with many unique shops.  We chose this place to have a restful holiday and it was, yet there was plenty to do if we chose to do so.  I would highly recommend this paradise area to anyone who wants to vacation in California.  We would definitely visit again, but there are so many beautiful resorts with RCI, we want to try them all.  We love RCI and the wonderful opportunities it offers us in trying new places and seeking new adventures.

Christine, San Bernardino, CA: In the summer of 2007, my husband and I experienced the most wonderful, relaxing vacation week that we have ever had. We decided to stay at WorldMark Angels Camp, California. During the day, we spent time visiting a couple of local wineries and sightseeing. In the evening, we barbecued dinner, relaxed, and escaped the reality of everyday stresses. It was a wonderfully simple and non-hurried vacation and we are looking forward to getting away again in the future!!

Try an RCI Timeshare Exchange for a Romantic Getaway

Jen V. - RCI Timeshare Exchanges and RCI.comI can't think of any better way to spend a vacation than with the person you love (or want to get to know better!).

Whether you’re sitting together in front of a fireplace in a Breckenridge ski resort, or lounging on a beach on your Myrtle Beach vacation, sharing a relaxing experience is a great way to not only get some down time, but to strengthen your relationship with your significant other.

I went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with my boyfriend last year — our first vacation together, in fact — and had a great time. Cabo is one of those places that you can take your family, or just one person, and there's something for everyone. The place we stayed in had different pools for families and adults. Some restaurants were family friendly, and some were fancier, so they didn't have kids. At those places, we had dinner at our own little table on the beach, watched people play live music, and listened to the waves. And some nights, we just sat on our balcony, drinking wine and looking out at the ocean.

A couple years ago, I stayed in Snowbird, Utah for a resort vacation, but that was with my brother, which is hardly romantic. But I could see how it could have been for a couple in love. This was one of those cozy ski lodges where you can cuddle up by the fireplace with a glass of wine and some snacks. But again, there were several families, so there is something for everyone there too.

Of course, I know everyone has different tastes and wants a different vacation experience. RCI tries to provide this for you. Try out our improved search engine (I’m very excited about this – I’m on the Online Team). You can search for amenities and experiences, not just dates or locations, and see what places are available.

Say you want to find a spa or a ski vacation. Go to our search engine, set the filter to show only spa or ski vacation types, and see what locations and dates are open. You can be a little more specific and add additional filters for date ranges and geography. So if you only want skiing locations in February in the western US, if they're available, they'll show up in the search results. Then you can easily see additional information, photos and videos, and member reviews to figure out which site is just right for you and your special someone.

Now it’s your turn – what was your most memorable romantic getaway that you booked with RCI? Comment below and let us know.
