Diversity in Malaysia

RCI Asia Destination InfoI hope you enjoyed those great tips about Thailand! Next up this week is Malaysia!

Malaysia is a bubbling, bustling melting-pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony. The multiculturalism has made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise and home to hundreds of colorful festivals.

Malaysians are very relaxed, warm and friendly. Geographically, Malaysia is almost as diverse as its culture. Malaysia has 11 states and 2 federal territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) that form Peninsular Malaysia which is separated by the South China Sea from East Malaysia, which includes the 2 states (Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo) and a third federal territory, the island of Labuan.

The sheer diversity of tourism destinations is astounding. These include the high-tech city of Kuala Lumpur, tropical island of Langkawi, colonial hill stations of Genting and Cameron Highlands, numerous pristine beaches, National Parks, and the world's oldest tropical rainforests. Malaysia has the potential of catering to tourists of every hue and it truly lives up to its tag line, “Malaysia Truly Asia.”

Thailand – Great history and great culture

Robin T. - RCI Asia Destination InfoThis week on the RCI Blog, we’ll be sharing some great information about destinations in Asia…staring with Thailand first!

Thailand is a wondrous kingdom, featuring exotic wildlife, spectacular islands, and Buddhist practice. Along with a fascinating history and a unique culture that includes delectable Thai food, Thailand features a modern capital city and friendly people who epitomize Thailand’s “land of smiles” reputation.

Thailand travel is convenient for visitors as there are many ways to get to Thailand and even more ways to travel within Thailand – whether your destination is Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai or the most remote provinces. Thailand is divided into 75 provinces, each geographically distinct from the others. Each Thailand province contains unique cultural, historical and natural attractions from the northern peaks (replete with wildlife and home to exotic hill tribes) and the central plains (the “Rice Bowl of Asia”) to the northeastern plateau (stretching to the Mekong River border with Laos) and the spectacular beaches and island of the south including both Phuket and Samui.

If you are looking for amazing history, traditional cultures, and delicious food, consider a trip to Thailand. I highly recommend it.
