A little known fact about me is that I was born in Auckland, New Zealand. My mother is from New Zealand and wanted to go “back home” to have her first born child.
New Zealand is filled with scenic beauty, like “The Remarkables,” a gorgeous mountain range that is the highlight of Lake Wakatipu, set in the foreground in Queenstown on the South Island.
Hopping across the Pacific Ocean to the North Island is Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city, which is at the southwestern tip of the North Island. Wellington is a gorgeous ocean-side community thriving with excitement and 5-star accommodations. From there to Paihia, which is about a 10-hour drive north, the landscape will take you on adventures of mountainous beauty, mystifying creatures (glow worms anybody?) and my native town...Auckland. The Paihia waters are crystal blue, so much so that you might swear you were someplace not on this Earth. An amazing sight to see!
