You want mountains, a magnificent coastline and desert? Look no further than Oregon! There’s even small towns, cities, hiking/biking, culture, kayaking, golf, Shakespeare, rodeos, the JS Bach festival, rafting, rose gardens, and great food/wine/beer, etc. You name it, it’s all in Oregon. That is why my family makes the trek from various parts of the United States to Oregon each summer.
With lots of activities to keep busy and larger cities within a couple hours drive, you will never run out of things to do. The summers are gorgeous, and the winters…. well… rainy. However, it’s nothing a Gortex jacket, some rain boots and a good cup of coffee won’t fix! Want something you can do inside? You could go to one of the enclosed look-outs on the coast (Cape Perpetua is my favorite) and watch the storms come in. Or you can spend a day hanging out at the infamous Powell’s City of Books in Portland. Like I said, there’s so much to do!
