You’re going where to get married? How do I sign up?!?!

Brad P. - RCI Sweepstakes and Social Media News

I’ll be honest, destination weddings are not as simple as putting on a fancy outfit, hopping into your car and heading down to the ceremony or reception.  They require a bit more planning and coordination…but oh my, they can be so much fun (as well as an excuse to get away)!

My most memorable destination wedding took place on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas.  My wife and I figured that since we had to fly down from the Northeast, we might as well make a vacation out of it.  The wedding took place on a Saturday, but we went down the Sunday before the big day.  The first part of the week was spent relaxing in the sun, playing in the ocean and exploring the island.  However, the trip continued to get better and better as the week progressed.  Towards the end of the week, all of our family and friends began to arrive and we acted like locals, showing them around the resort and surrounding areas.  Then, the vacation was capped off by a fantastic wedding where close friends affirmed their eternal love for one another, and we danced well into the night on the soft white sand next to the ocean! It certainly was a memorable event that I will always remember fondly.

This week on the blog, we’ll be showcasing RCI subscribing member photos and stories about destination weddings.  If you have a memory you want to share about a wedding in a far-away place, please submit your story to the RCI blog or comment on any of the great stories or pictures.

Any season is the right season to visit Vermont

Brad P. - RCI Sweepstakes and Social Media NewsI’ve been traveling to Vermont for almost 20 years now and I have so many fantastic memories of my times there.  I first started my relationship with the Green Mountain state as a teenager when I used to trek up North in an attempt to find the most rigorous and challenging ski trails. With more than 15 different mountains and resorts, Vermont offers a wide variety of options for all kinds of skiers and snowboarders, no matter what your skill level.

While the winter may be my favorite time to visit Vermont, I’ve also had the opportunity to experience it in the autumn and summer.  I can honestly say that New England during the height of fall foliage is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.  The views of the rolling mountains and hills, filled with different hues of yellow, orange and red, are quite breathtaking. Vermont is also a great place to visit in the summer.  One of my favorite memories was when I visited my sister in July and we spent the afternoon walking the streets of Burlington before ending the day relaxing in a park that overlooked Lake Champlain.

This week on the blog, we’ll be featuring stories and pictures about Vermont from RCI subscribing members.  Be sure to check back throughout the week to get some great ideas and information that can help you plan a trip to the Green Mountain state.

Endless Possibilities in Orlando, FL

Brad P. - RCI Sweepstakes and Social Media NewsI recently returned from a trip with my family (my wife, two daughters and son) to the Orlando area and I can honestly say it was my favorite vacation to date.  The weather was beautiful and there were so many fun outings and activities to keep us busy.  The parks and attractions were an obvious hit with my children, but the area has so much more to offer for those that just want to relax and enjoy the sun.  On our final day, we all were in agreement that we didn’t want our time in Orlando to end and wished it could be prolonged at least another week.

Have you been on a similar vacation to the Orlando area?  If so, please share it here on the RCI blog. If you’d like to read more about Orlando and what other RCI subscribing members have to say about the area, check back on the RCI blog this week…we’ll be sharing stories and photos from members like you!

And if you can’t wait, take a look at this video of Vacation Village at Parkway, an RCI affiliated resort in Orlando.

Viva Las Vegas!

Brad P. - RCII’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” over and over again, but I don’t believe that slogan needs to hold true. I’ve been to Las Vegas several times and I love to reminisce about the wonderful experiences I had while I was there.  Some of my favorite memories include walking up and down the Strip, and soaking in the attractions like the fountains at the Bellagio and the gondola rides at the Venetian. Another fun excursion was riding the “Big Shot” at the top of the Stratosphere, where I got to see an amazing view of the entire city!

This week, we’ll be featuring stories and pictures from members about their experiences in Las Vegas.  Be sure to check back and let us know some of fun things you’ve done while in the city of lights.
