Photos from my trip to South Africa

Greg H. - RCI Travel and Destination NewsHere are some of the photos I took while on my trip.  Comments are welcome!

We rented a car and drove through Kruger National Park. It was an amazing experience - we got up close and personal with elephants, rhinos, monkeys, hippos, lions, zebras and so many other amazing animals. Only in Kruger would you have to yield to elephants crossing the road!

Tucked in the mountains, we happened upon this unique geological waterfall formation known as Bourkes Luck Potholes. There's nothing better than dipping your toes in cold pools of water on a hot and sunny African day!

Shark-diving off the coast of Gansbaai, South Africa. One of the greatest experiences in the world. You will never be so excited and so frightened all at the same time.

The famous Table Mountain as seen from the Cape Town Waterfront.  We did eventually climb the mountain, but let's just say I'm glad we took the cable car back down…

Wine and cheese tasting in Franschhoek, South Africa. With three great wine regions (Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek) within one or two hour's drive of Cape Town, South Africa is a prime destination for oenophiles (or in this case, wannabe oenophiles).

So...did you stay in an RCI resort...or just travel on your own.?

Hi Nancy, we actually did both. During our time near Kruger, we stayed at an RCI affiliated resort (Sanbonani Resort, ID #2051). It was a beautiful property and the perfect jumping point for our travels around the area. In Cape Town, we stayed at a hotel near the waterfront, not associated with RCI. If you’re interested in travelling to South Africa, I highly recommend it, it’s an amazing experience!

It sounds and looks like a great vacation adventure. Photos are great. I don't think I will live long enough to ever have the option of being able to make this wonderful trip, so thanks for sharing.

Love the pictures! I have wanted to travel to Africa for a long time but my friends and family think I am crazy. I hope your pictures help dispel this idea. It looks like it would be a great adventure.
