New Orleans

Our trip to the "Big Easy" couldn't have been filled with more fun, food, music, history, or gators. Our red eye special into New Orleans was softened with the wonderful hospitality and help of the staff at Club La Pension, located in the French Quarter. We hit the ground running with a city bus tour, followed by 7 full days of exploring the greater New Orleans area. The French Quarter was filled with music, colorful people, and fantastic food. Tired? How about a sitdown at Cafe du Monde! We took walking tours of the Garden District, where the who's who of times past lived and still do today. At night, we were off to Frenchmen Street for the real jazz deal. We spent a day touring the Mississippi plantation homes and topped it off with a Bayou boat tour to check out the gators. Part of the French District is a National Monument, so we did a ranger tour that was very interesting. We loved New Orleans, especially the wonderful hospitality and courageous people...
