We were very fortunate to receive a trade at the Manhattan Club in NYC the summer of 2005. What an experience ~ our two teenagers had the time of their lives. The folks in NYC were awesome! A tip for getting a trade at the Manhattan Club: We put in for ANY week in a three month period and got our trade! This was an experience of a lifetime. We hit the Bronx Zoo (my father was born in the Bronx in 1929), then all of the other typical tourist places: Statue of Liberty (plan on spending time at the location where the immigrants were processed, it's incredibly moving), we went to 2 plays, walked to Ground Zero (and tears were shed ~ by many, many people standing at the fences), saw the Empire State Building (I wouldn't recommend it, very commercialized and you just get whisked up to stand on top for a few minutes, it's anticlimactic). Get your play tickets at the kiosk in Times Square, they're much cheaper. We also saw Grand Central Station and spent a whole day at Central Park. You could go there 10 times and never see anything, and bring stretchy clothes .... you WILL gain weight when you eat the culinary creations in SoHo, or TriBeCa. YUM! Enjoy!
