During the hot summer months, I often find myself daydreaming about the crisp cool days of fall. This is a time when the landscape comes alive…the trees display their finest oranges, reds and yellows. And these are the days that I love to fill with hiking, camping and other outdoor activities.
Fall has always been a favorite season of mine to get out and enjoy. I remember as a child traveling from my home in Charlotte to the North Carolina Mountains in the fall. We would drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the beautiful colors.
I now have my own children and we have spent many fall seasons exploring the Midwest, where we used to call home. I have fond memories of corn fields bordered by beautiful trees, bursting of yellows and reds. Last year, we were relocated to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and we are looking forward to another amazing autumn season here in the mountains. There are so many places to enjoy the spectacular display that nature presents each year.
This week on the RCI Blog, we’ll be sharing stories and photos from RCI subscribing members who have taken autumn adventures of their own. Be sure to come back to check out where they visited and what they did!
