There is so Much to Love in Virginia

Molly W. - Virginia Trip Ideas for RCI Subscribing MembersVirginia is for Lovers.  Whether it is spending time doing the things you love or quality time with those you love, you are sure to create lasting memories here.

When taking a new role with RCI recently, I relocated my family to the beautiful mountains of Virginia.  As lovers of adventure and spending time together as a family, we quickly learned this was the right place for us.

My husband is a big history buff and he would recommend checking out the civil battlefields – his favorite is the Manassas National Battlefield Park.  Another place he suggests seeing is Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters in Winchester. And if you’re looking for even more history-rich cities, be sure to visit Williamsburg, Jamestown, Monticello and Alexandria. Virginia has played a large role in this country’s history and takes great pride in sharing this with its visitors.

But there is even more to love.  As nature enthusiast, I highly recommend hiking in Shenandoah National Park and taking in the amazing views from Skyline Drive.  Be sure to explore one of the many caves throughout the western part of the state.  My favorite is Luray Caverns. My children recommend the Virginia Safari Park.  This is a great “drive-thru” zoo where you can spot zebras, llamas, camels and more.

To enjoy the local fare I suggest visiting one of the many local farmers markets, locally owned restaurants or one of the many wineries/breweries.  A great way to spend the day is taking in the countryside and some of the local wineries.

Whether you are a lover of history, adventure, nature, fun or just sitting back and relaxing, there is something for everyone in Virginia.

Do you have any suggestions of what to do for RCI subscribing members who are visiting Virginia in the future?
